Background
Elephant & Castle was an installation project to bring attention to an underserved global market in South London. The market’s owners were threatening to demolish the market and develop the space into a high-end apartment complex. With this project, I wanted to highlight the rich and diverse cultures that exist within the market. For many, this market provides a space where many low-income families can make a living and participate in the economy. I created an abstract motion graphic and panels that feature quotes from shop owners in the market on what this space represents for them. This project was for the University of the Arts London.
